CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) RESPONSE

Tuesday, June 2, 2020 Update

Based upon Governor Gretchen Whitmer's latest executive order extending the closure of certain public spaces Stars & Stripes will remain closed. Our classification of business type is not permitted to reopen yet. We will release our reopening plan once we are provided with operational regulations.

"Executive Order 2020-110 (COVID-19) (June 1, 2020)

Subject to the exceptions in section 14, the following places are closed to ingress, egress, use, and occupancy by members of the public:

Indoor gymnasiums, fitness centers, recreation centers, sports facilities, exercise facilities, exercise studios, and the like.

Indoor services or facilities, or outdoor services or facilities involving close contact of persons, for amusement or other recreational or entertainment purposes, such as amusement parks, arcades, bingo halls, bowling alleys, indoor climbing facilities, indoor dance areas, skating rinks, trampoline parks, and other similar recreational or entertainment facilities."

As is the case during this unpredictable time, our plans and timeline are subject to change. We will be communicating more details once the executive order extending the closure of public spaces has been lifted. Please check Stars & Stripes social media, your email, and updates at http://www.starsandstripeskids.com/covid-19.

Our Promise: This promise is to you, your children, the amazing Stars & Stripes staff and the community — Stars & Stripes will weather this storm and come back strong. To whatever extent necessary, every dollar we have ever saved will be pledged to our recovery and rebuilding.

We will not process any tuition payments without further communication. If the resumption of operations is anything other than the first of a month, all tuition will be pro-rated to that date. At this time no action is required. We will address the specific details for what was missed in March once we reopen. If you have enrolled and any camp and it was not able to run we will promptly provide a 100% refund

Very Sincerely,
Stars & Stripes Kids Activity Center

Dear Stars & Stripes Families,

We understand you have been inundated with emails and text messages about what each organization is doing to combat COVID-19. We have always been a leader in the industry when it comes to keeping our facility clean, fresh, and safe for our students, their families, our employees, and the community. We are parents in this community raising our children with your children. We see you at school, church, the grocery store, and funny enough even run into each other on vacations. We love this community and have strived to build a small business that can meet the needs of so many different families. What is happening in the world right now has many people at odds and we very much respect everyone's opinion and ideas. We have been monitoring each hour of each day to make sure that we are doing all that we can to help.

As a small business serving so many wonderful families in this community we have made the responsible decision to close our facility until April 6, 2020 in alignment with recommendations of our local and federal government as well as medical experts in an effort to stop community spread of COVID-19. The urgency to mitigate spread to avoid a larger disruption of our daily lives is necessary as cases of the virus have increased in our metropolitan area.

By taking these temporary actions along with the Michigan school districts mandatory closures, cancelling of large group gatherings and events, and with many other small business closures, we are all taking the appropriate steps to prevent spread with the goal of decreased cases in the upcoming weeks. Stars & Stripes has been serving this community for nearly two decades and want to do well by everyone. We want to take all necessary steps to keep everyone healthy and avoid a larger issue by taking responsible action.

We ask you to please remember that we are in this community as well doing the absolute best we can for everyone. Our children are in the same boat as your children, and we want this all to clear up just as much as you do. We know that together we will all get through this and our children will be able to get back to a normal fun schedule of learning and growing. We do not have all of the answers as to what is happening in the world right now, but we do know that together we will all come out of this stronger and as a tighter community.
